North Star Version 4 Changes Everything

North Star Version 4 represents a complete re-envisioning of our approach to management of data and collaboration on the web. Tablets, smart phones and other touch-screen devices have caused nearly everyone who maintains a presence on the web to rethink their user interface strategy.

We have embraced this changed and are rebuilding North Star from the ground up to take advantage of this revolution in technology accessibility. North Star Version 4 has been designed from day one to allow you to enter and view data as easily on your iPhone or iPad as you can on a laptop or desktop PC. We understand that data entry can be a time consuming process. However, without good data, it is impossible to gain insight into the changes that North Star will have on your district. With this in mind, we’ve made ease of use our primary focus in this redesign.

Version 4 is much quicker and the responsiveness of the user interface makes it a joy to use. You will find yourself coming to view graphs and enter data on your days off. It’s that good.

While the new interface is the star of the show, we are also making great strides in other areas in this release. Videos have become a crucial component in how we learn. North Star is embracing this movement and we have several video components that are available to subscribers. We will be granting each district space to upload their own district-specific videos, in addition to the ones already available from North Star.

What's Special About This Version?

This version of North Star was designed to take advantage of the prevalence of mobile devices for getting work done. You can do anything in the system from your smart phone or tablet with just as much ease as you can from your laptop. Being able to quickly view reports, enter data, or even watch a training video is huge. We all have limited time to get things done each day. North Star helps you make the most of it.

When will it be ready?

Fall 2015. We will start piloting existing customers this Spring/Summer.

If I sign up now, will I have to pay again to use the new version?

No, you do not. Any users that sign up between now and Fall 2015 will be automatically upgraded to the new version and have access to it for the entirety of the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.

If I sign up now, will my data carry over to the new version?

Absolutely. The new version will extend the capabilities of North Star, but any data entered in the current system will be seamlessly carried forward to the new version.
